Cadets - Cadets

Tom Price Emergency Services Cadet Corps

This group of volunteer students meet every Tuesday night to learn, participate and develop skills that see them become strong leaders in community groups now and in the future.

The Tom Price Cadets are strongly supported by the local State Emergency Services, St John Ambulance, Fire and Rescue, Pilbara Regiment and Police WA.

Students participate in activities that develop their skills in:

• First Aid.

• Communication.

• General Rescue.

• Fire Safety.

• Search and Rescue Skills.

• Leadership Skills.

• Water Rescue.

Students have participated in major crash scenarios, mock rescues as well as supporting community events.

Five Cadets also had the fabulous opportunity to spend time upon the Youth DFES Cadet Voyage on the training ship Leeuwin.

The Cadet Corps was privileged enough to be asked by DFES District Mangers to participate in the SES Pilbara Regional Exercise at Karijini. Thirty cadets experienced a full scaled land search and learned how Emergency Services volunteers respond to a number of incidents.

The Cadets were the talk of the town with much media attention focused on the cadet unit. The Cadet Corps certainly did both themselves and the towns of Tom Price and Paraburdoo proud.
