Dear Parent/Guardian,
Tom Price Senior High School will be conducting a 3-hour Teen Mental Health First Aid course for
Year 8 students this term.
The course is being delivered by Education Department School Psychologists specifically trained as
teen instructors.
The course will run over three sessions during the first period (8 am – 9:15 am) on either Tuesday,
Wednesday or Thursday during Weeks 4, 5, and 6. Students will be asked to answer a short survey at
the completion of the course. These questions will help us to measure learning outcomes.
This is a fantastic opportunity for students to gain information and skills to assist and support their
peers. Students completing the three sessions of the course will receive a certificate of completion
which can be added to portfolios.
The course is NOT compulsory and parents/guardians may contact Annette Wilson to discuss the
the program, survey or withdraw their child.
