The Try-A-Trade (TAT) Program is a Construction Training Fund (CTF) initiative and was delivered by lecturer Graeme Humphry from North Regional TAFE in Karratha.
Try A Trade provides a practical interactive trade experience to targeted high school students. With limited positions available for this program, selected Year 9 and 10 students were successful in securing this opportunity. The program allows students to get hands-on experience over a three day period and gain valuable carpentry skills including a basic understanding of OHS standards, learning how to plan projects and what to expect when working within this trade field. These students demonstrated excellent skills in this trade and worked collaboratively to create flower boxes for our school.
